Max joined the firm as an associate in 2021 after practicing at two employment and labour firms in Toronto. He brings experience in employment law, labour arbitration, civil litigation, and administrative law.
Max studied law at the University of Ottawa and has a B.A. in Geography from McGill University. At law school, he worked at a union-side labour firm in Ottawa and represented tenants in disputes with their landlords through the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. He then completed a year-long clerkship at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, assisting judges on a variety of civil, criminal, and administrative matters.
Prior to law school, Max worked as a journalist and as a bike mechanic. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Stopgap Foundation, a charity that works to improve accessibility across Canada.
Max’s practice includes labour, human rights, employment, and landlord and tenant law. He has represented clients at the Superior Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court, the Grievance Settlement Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and administrative tribunals. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association.
