Envisioning Global LGBT Human Rights

Sep 1, 2012
This Fall, Susan Ursel continues her work with the global project Envisioning Global LGBT Human Rights, as chair of the Canadian Legal Research Team’s Subcommittee for African Research. The Team draws on Canadian lawyers and activists as well as legal students through Pro Bono Students Canada. Envisioning is an international research and documentary film project, working to advance social justice and equality for LGBTI people. It is headed by York University’s Professor Nancy Nicol, an award-winning video artist and documentary filmmaker whose work is grounded in the tradition of the artist as activist, probing issues of human rights, social justice and struggles for social change. Envisioning is a partnership of mutual learning, bringing together 35 LGBTI organizations based in Africa, India, the Caribbean and Canada.
