Rita joined the firm in 2023. Prior to her time at UPFH LLP, she worked as a staff lawyer and student supervisor at a community clinic that focused on workers’ compensation claims and at a union-side firm that specialized in construction labour law. Rita also articled at another prominent union-side firm where she gained experience with labour law, human rights and workers’ compensation. Rita has been featured as a speaker by both the Ontario Bar Association and Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers on topics relating to workers’ compensation.
Rita earned her JD from the University of Toronto where she represented workers in employment matters at Downtown Legal Services and in workers’ compensation cases at Advocates for Injured Workers. Prior to law school, Rita studied Law and Society at York University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Outside of work, Rita enjoys weightlifting, trying out new recipes and teaching her rescue dog new tricks.
